Money-Guy 11-20-2009

Some people love Christmas or Thanksgiving or maybe New Year’s or Valentine’s day, but, while I do enjoy these holidays very much, there is one day each year that holds special significance for me. You probably guessed it… that day is Black Friday. [What do you expect? I’m the ‘Money-Guy’ 🙂 ]

Black Friday, if you didn’t know, is the Friday every year that follows Thanksgiving Day. On this particular day, retailers decide to go crazy. They begin to offer amazing sales on both small and big ticket items, sometimes offering 50% – 75% discounts. For those of you who love saving money, which I have to believe is most of you, it is not hard to see how you can turn Black Friday into a planning opportunity.

As you listen to the show, I will walk you through some of the things I look for when I do my Black Friday research and shopping. I also share some of my favorite shopping sites such as TGIBlackFriday.com, PriceGrabber.com, and DealCatcher.com. I hope these tools can help you find the best deals out there and really give you a chance to stretch your dollar as far as possible.

Towards the end of the show, I wanted to do a segment I call,  “How I Know I’m Getting Old”. This doesn’t have a whole lot to do with financial planning, or even getting your financial house in order, but maybe some of you out there share some of these same thoughts, or even have a funny story or realization you want to share. Feel free to tell us about your “Getting Old” revelations! I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
