If you’re a regular visitor or listener, you know I don’t blog and podcast here for fame and fortune. Most months, I’m lucky if contributions from listeners come close to my hefty hosting and bandwidth expenses.
I’m instead motivated by a conviction that everyone, rich or poor, deserves access to high quality personal finance counsel. So, while I may work with the wealthy in my day job, I dream of helping anyone who seeks "beyond common sense" financial advice.
Still, I can’t help but feel proud that we’ve been recognized for our efforts as the "Best Future Value Blog" by the influential Kahuna Group. They’re a New Jersey-based social media research firm that studies how small companies and professionals are using the Internet and other communication tools.
Through the early months of 2008, they assessed over 30 blogs operated by high-profile financial planners like myself. Using a 21-point evaluation scheme, they scanned everything from our blogroll and updating frequency to our RSS subscription tools and openness to personal feedback.
Needless to say, we did more than well: we won first place!
Who can top this praise? 🙂
"… Brian produces a great blog. This one should stand as an example of what to do in financial planner blogging."
Wow! 🙂
Double wow! 🙂 🙂
Can I also give a shout-out to my fellow winners? Kudos to Elizabeth Potts Weinstein who blogs at GrowUpStrategies.com/blog and Rick Kahler who blogs at FinancialAwakenings.com. I’ll definitely be paying more attention to their efforts. Congratulations to both of them!
Thanks for everyone’s support and feedback. If you enjoy our efforts, please keep telling your friends and leaving feedback at the Apple iTunes website. If we can do a better job, drop me a personal email.
